Hanseatic / Guessing Gelding

Australia

We present to you a very well related Hanseatic Gelding out of the Megdalia D'Oro Mare Guessing.

The Street Cry sire line - one that has provided us with such stars as Winx, Pride Of Jenni, Anamoe and Bella Nipotina - continues to thrive in Australia and its member Hanseatic has made a most encouraging start to his stud career.

Victoria's second leading first season sire, the handsome chestnut was one of the best two-year-olds of his year; recording extra smart victories at his first three starts - all in stakes company - before a game Gr.1 Blue Diamond Stakes second... only just beaten by Tagaloa.

Also competitive in good company at three, Hanseatic - who hails from the same family as Black Caviar, Ole Kirk, All Too Hard and Magnus - has some very nice horses in his debut crop.

Such as the lightly raced and promising winners Tiz Worthy and Befuddle (Gr.3 placed at her latest outing) whilst Bermondsey did such a great job finishing third in a Listed Blue Diamond Preview at his first start.

This attractive gelding is the second foal produced by the unraced Guessing whose multiple Gr.1 winning sire Medaglia d'Oro is doing an outstanding job as a broodmare sire with his daughters producing 126 stakes winners including nine Gr.1 horses.

Guessing's first foal is also by Hanseatic; named Trader's Guess, she has been coming along well finishing in the placings at her first two jump-outs.

Guessing's dam Conjecture by Danehill's excellent son Commands is a full sister to the tough and classy campaigner Rain Affair who did such a great job winning 12 of his 40 starts; five of those in Group company.

Also a Listed winner who was four times Group 1 placed, Rain Affair is one of the eight winners (from as many foals to race) for Guessing's grandam I Believe whose son Ranges was also a gutsy galloper; the winner of eight races (two at Listed level) and 22 times placed from 48 starts.

A daughter of the champion Octagonal, the lightly raced but very talented I Believe (four wins from five starts) is a half-sister to the stakes winner Walk Alone and to the grandam of the sadly ill-fated dual Derby winner Riff Rocket.

Stakes winners Wayupinthesky, Deltona, Been There and Vegadaze also hail from this branch of a great local family which has as its ancestress the 1945 Melbourne Cup winner Rainbird who can also count amongst her descendants the big race winners Malaguerra, Allez Wonder, Aloha, Lone Rock, Snitzerland, Tivaci and Cool Aza Beel as well as the classy stallion Centaine.

Hanseatic's first two winners and first two stakes performers are all line-bred to Danehill as is this gelding who is 4 X 4. He also boasts duplications of the outstanding stallions Danzig, Northern Dancer and Damascus and he is bred on highly successful Street Cry/Sadler's Wells combination.

One which has produced 122 stakes winners with its 16 Gr.1 winners including Dubai Honour, Broadsiding, Cascadian, Whobegotyou and Roaring Lion.

There is good background strength to this pedigree, this gelding boasting duplications of the influential mares Black Ray, Sweet Lavender, Lady Josephine, Mumtaz Mahal, Lavendula II, Lalun, Frizette, Mumtaz Begum and Prunella (ancestress of Street Boss, his sire Street Cry and of Medaglia d'Oro's sire El Prado).

We are very excited to have him join the team and He is currently being broken in and is being offered  at a price which includes purchase price and breaking in.

Astern / Stomp Colt

Australia

Presenting our Astern Colt from Inglis Premier. A big strong horse with plenty of presence, already 50% sold at this point as very reasonably priced for the family you are buying into.

Astern is a horse who created a big impression from the get-go, winning two of his first three starts including the Gr.2 Silver Slipper Stakes and the Gr.3 Kindergarten Stakes, Astern was even better at three adding to his resume the Gr.2 Run To The Rose and the Gr.1 Golden Rose.

At stud he has proven to be a reliable source of classy winners with 14 stakes winners - including the Gr.1 gallopers Golden Mile and Affaire A Suivre - amongst his 229 winners. Another 14 of his progeny are stakes placed and another 30 are metropolitan winners.

Those statistics give you a great chance of having some fun racing an Astern with 26% of his winners being at least city class!

Astern's pedigree is full of Frizette family influence and he picks up strongly on strains of that famed matriarch's most successful descendant Mr Prospector to whom this colt's well related dam Stomp is line-bred 3 X 5.

Mr Prospector hails from the same Myrtlewood branch of the Frizette family as Lomond, dam sire of Astern's dam sire Exceed And Excel. Of Astern's 14 stakes winners, 11 are out of mares with Mr Prospector strains including the Gr.1 Caulfield Guineas winner Golden Mile.

As a bonus Stomp is by Congrats whose famous grandsire Seattle Slew is a half-brother to Lomond - providing for a 6 X 5 cross of the wonderful mare My Charmer another three of Astern's stakes winners are line-bred to her.

As are the likes of Gold Trip and Thunder Snow - Gr.1 Melbourne Cup and Gr.1 Dubai World Cup (twice) winners.

A colt with plenty of pedigree oomph this fellow has even more going for him, being a member of one of Australia's classiest families.

His winning dam Stomp (by Congrats who is excelling as a broodmare sire with his seven Gr.1 winners including the unbeaten last start Galaxy winner Private Harry) is an exciting young broodmare whose first two foals are both showing plenty of ability.

Her first foal, the three-year-old Hot Stomper has been in the placings at her last two starts with a win close whilst her second, the two-year-old Hey Jessie has impressed with a recent jump-out win at Flemington and a trial win at Caulfield which you can view in the videos below.

Stomp is one of the five winners for the More Than Ready (star broodmare sire of 195 stakes winners including 26 Gr.1 horses) mare Champagne Run whose Gr.3 winning daughter Flying Evelyn was served by I Am Invincible last spring.

Also dam of the Gr.3 placed Cristal Eyes and the very talented last start Moonee Valley winning four-year-old Sparkling, Champagne Run is one of the seven winners (from as many foals) for the wonderful filly Bollinger - winner of five her eight starts including the the Gr.1 Coolmore Classic.

Bollinger also produced the Group winners Friesan Fire and Villermont and she is a half-sister to the Gr.3 winning juveniles Sheraton and Mannington with her dam being Bint Marscay... winner of the Gr.1 Golden Slipper Stakes, the Gr.2 Magic Night Stakes, the Gr.2 Chirnside Stakes and the Listed Kindergarten Stakes.

Bint Marscay has proven to be a great influence - ancestress of the stakes winners Benicio (Gr.1 VRC Derby), Romneya, Roheryn, Always Allison, Rosa Imperial, Off Trail and Rosental whilst her Gr.3 Eulogy Stakes winning dam Eau D'Etoile by Sir Tristram produced another two Gr.1 winners... Filante (the two time Gr.1 W.S Cox Plate runner-up who won the Epsom Handicap and the Caulfield Stakes) and Kenny's Best Pal (Australian Guineas).

Stella Cadente and Grail Seeker are also big race winners from a family that just keeps on giving!
